WildStar Community Showdown Contest
Official Contest Rules

1.                  Eligibility: Except where prohibited by law, the WildStar Community Showdown Contest (“Contest”) is open only to residents of a member state of the European Union, Iceland, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey (for the purposes of this Contest, residents of these countries will be deemed part of the European Union) who are the age of majority or older (18 years of age in most jurisdictions) as of the date of entry.  Participants must be registered as a WildStar player character on www.wildstar-online.com and are subject to the rules and regulations of www.wildstar-online.com that accompany the creation of a character on the website. In addition, the participant’s WildStar account billing information must include the participant’s full real name, email address, phone number and residential address (in an eligible country, state or territory), and the WildStar account must contain a WildStar character that is registered in-game as a member of the Team’s Community (defined below). The sponsor of this Contest is Carbine LLC (“Sponsor”).  Employees of the Sponsor and its respective distributors, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotional agencies, and their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, and spouse of each), and those living in the same household of each are NOT ELIGIBLE TO ENTER OR WIN.  Other eligibility requirements and conditions of participation are set forth below in these official rules for the Contest (“Official Contest Rules”) available at www.wildstar-online.com (“Contest Website”). All federal, state, provincial, municipal, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.

2.                  How to Enter: To enter, a participant must create, or have created, a player character on the Contest Website by following the directions on the Contest Website for new players. Creation of a WildStar player character is free. After creation of a player character, there is a two-step process to enter the Contest, as follows:

(a)                STEP ONE: In order to enter, eligible participants must create, register and/or join a team (each a “Team” and collectively, the “Teams”) for the Contest.  In order to create and register a Team, the leader of the Team (“Team Leader”) must access the Contest Website, log into the Team Leader’s WildStar account, locate and select the Team registration link, and then complete the Team registration to form a Team for the Contest (“Registration Process”). As part of the Registration Process, the Team Leader will be required to identify the chosen region for the Team (i.e., either North America or Europe). After completing the Team registration, the Team Leader will arrive at a confirmation page that verifies that the Team has been registered.  The Team Leader may choose to enter and compete in the Contest alone or choose up to four teammates to join the Team to compete in the Contest.  If the Team Leader chooses to add teammates to the Team, upon registering a Team, the Team Leader will receive a Unique Team Code that the Team Leader can provide to up to four teammates.  To join a Team as a teammate (and not a Team Leader), the participant must follow the same Registration Process as the Team Leader; however, during the Registration Process, the participant will enter the Unique Team Code as part of the registration to join an already formed Team. All registered members of a Team (each a “Participant” and collectively, the “Participants”) will be considered equal contributors to the Team.  Team information and Team members cannot be changed once all registration steps have been completed by each Team member.  Once registered, a Team is considered final.  Eligible Participants are restricted to registering with only one Team through the Participant’s WildStar account, whether creating a Team as a Team Leader or joining an existing Team.  Teams will have the opportunity from the date of Team registration through the end of the Entry Period (defined below) to prepare the Team’s community on WildStar (“Community”) for the Contest, using décor, FABkits, and NPCs from any in-game source.  A Community is a shared in-game space that holds up to five housing plots.

(b)               STEP TWO: Once the Team is formed and the Team has prepared its Community, the Team Leader must email to WildStarCommunity@NCSoft.com five screenshots (each a “Screenshot” and collectively, “Screenshots”) of the Team’s Community. Upon submission of the Screenshots in accordance with these Official Contest Rules, the Team (“Entrant”) will receive an entry (each an “Entry” and collectively, the “Entries”) into the Contest. The email with the Screenshots must come from the email address registered to the Team Leader’s WildStar account.  The subject line for the submission email must state “Community Showdown Submission” and the Team name. The Community design for the Team will be considered locked at the end of the Entry Period.  No further changes can be made to the Team’s Community from the end of the Entry Period through 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 13, 2017.

The following requirements apply for each email submission of the Screenshots:

(c)                The email submission must be in English. The Screenshots must feature the Team’s Community, with one Screenshot from the perspective of each housing plot in the Community.  The Community name as registered on the Contest Website must be visible in one or more of the Screenshots. The email submission must include the following statement in the body: “This email is submitted as an entry in the WildStar Community Showdown Contest.”  Any email submission that does not include this statement in its body will be void.

3.                  Registration Period and Entry Period:  Teams may be registered for the Contest during the registration period, which begins at 7:00 PM Central European Time (“CET”) on August 30, 2017 and ends at 8:59 AM CETPDT on September 21, 2017 (“Registration Period”). For Teams that registered for the Contest during the Registration Period, Entries will only be considered “Valid” if the submission email is received by the Sponsor between 9:01 AM CET on September 6, 2017 and 8:59 AM CET on October 5, 2017 (“Entry Period”). Emailing a Screenshots submission to WildStarCommunity@NCSOFT.com constitutes the Team’s Entry into the Contest and each Team member’s consent to and agreement with these Official Contest Rules.

4.                  Entry Limit:  Limit of One Entry per Entrant Team during the Entry Period.  Subsequent Entries by the same Entrant Team are invalid and will be disqualified.  Any attempts made by the same Team to submit multiple Entries during the Entry Period are void.  In the event of a dispute over the identity of the Entrant Team, the Entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the Team Leader’s email account submitted at the time of registration into the Contest.  “Authorized account holder” is the natural person who is assigned an email address by an internet service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question. All Entries must be received during the Entry Period in order to be eligible for any Prize offered in this Contest.  Any Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period are void and will not be eligible for a Prize.

Neither Sponsor, nor any telephone network, nor any service provider is responsible for incorrect transcription of Entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures or any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any website or online service, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, illegible, incomplete, damaged, or misdirected Entries or Entries not properly forwarded to Sponsor.

5.                  Conditions of Submission: Any Screenshot that is deemed by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to be offensive, infringing, immoral, obscene, profane, defamatory, not keeping with the image of the Sponsor, or in violation of these Official Contest Rules will be void. Further, any Screenshot that contains trademark, copyright-protected or other proprietary materials for which the Entrant Team has not obtained appropriate assignment of rights, as well as any Screenshot that disparages or portrays the Sponsor in a negative light, will be void. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to void any Entries from Entrants whom Sponsor believes have attempted to tamper or have tampered with the administration, security, or fairness of this Contest. Entries submitted by automatic, programmed, or like methods will be disqualified.

By entering, each Entrant Team warrants and represents that: (i) each Screenshot submitted by the Entrant Team is the original work of the Team and does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality or publicity rights or any other legal rights of any third party; (ii) the Entrant Team owns or otherwise controls all rights to each Screenshot submitted by the Team; and (iii) each Screenshot has not been entered into or won any previous contests or awards and has not been published or distributed previously in any form of media. By entering this Contest, each Entrant Team and each Participant of the Team unconditionally and irrevocably grants a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable license to Sponsor and its successors or assigns to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of their Screenshots for any purpose now and hereafter as they so desire. By submitting Screenshots, the Entrant Team and each Participant of the Team grants Sponsor the right to use, publish, adapt, edit and/or modify the Screenshots in any way, in whole or in part, and to use such Screenshot alone or in combination with other works, as solely determined by Sponsor, in commerce and trade and in any and all media now known or hereafter discovered, without limitation or compensation to the Team or Team Participants and without right of notice, review, or approval of any such use of the Screenshots.

6.                  Selection of the Winners:  There will be up to seven winners of the Contest selected among all the eligible Team Entrants on a worldwide basis (each a “Winner” and collectively, the “Winners”). The Contest will have two grand prize winners (each a “Grand Prize Winner”), one Grand Prize Winner for North America and one Grand Prize Winner for Europe, and up to five honorable mention winners (each, a “Honorable Mention Winner”). The Grand Prize Winners and Honorable Mention Winners of the Contest will be determined by a panel of judges (“Judges”) appointed by the Sponsor. The Judges will review each of the Screenshot submissions and rank the Screenshot submissions based upon the following criteria: (a) Creativity (50%); and (b) Visual Appeal (50%) (collectively, “Judging Criteria”).  The judging process will be completed in three phases.  In the first phase, the Judges will review all of the Screenshot submissions received by the Sponsor during the Entry Period applying the Judging Criteria and identify a pool of finalists (each a “Finalist” and collectively, the “Finalists”) to move on to the second phase.  In the second phase, the Judges will verify eligibility of the Team members for each Finalist, which entails confirming that the Team members are eligible for the Contest and have existing WildStar accounts that contain characters that are members of the Team’s in-game Community.  After eligibility is verified, in the third phase, the Judges will review the Screenshot submissions from each of the verified Finalists and then visit the Team’s Community in-game in order to take a more in-depth review of the Community. After reviewing the Screenshot submissions and visiting the Team’s Community in-game of the verified Finalists, the Judges will evaluate and rank the Entries of the verified Finalists.  The top-ranked Entry by Team from each region (North America and Europe), as determined by the Judges in their sole discretion applying the Judging Criteria, will be the Grand Prize Winners and the next five top-ranked Entries by Team from both regions combined will be the Honorable Mention Winners of the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to award less than five Honorable Mention Winners if the Judges determine, in their sole and absolute discretion, that fewer than five Entries from verified eligible Teams satisfy the minimum creativity and visual appeal standards for this Contest. The Sponsor’s determination of the Grand Prize Winners and Honorable Mention Winners is final and binding and not subject to review or appeal.

7.                  Announcement of Winners: On October 13, 2017, the Winners will be announced by the Sponsor on the Contest Website and Sponsor’s social media channels, and may be showcased in a livestream on Sponsor’s Twitch channel. For Winners residing in Canada, before being confirmed as a Winner, each Winner Team member must correctly answer unaided, a time limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by email or telephone.

8.                  Prizes (each a “Prize” and collectively, the “Prizes”) and Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) in in Euros for Winners: The following Prizes will be awarded in this Contest:

(a)                Prize for each Grand Prize Winner (two in total): Each Grand Prize Winning Team will receive €2.403,85 to be divided evenly among all Team members verified as eligible Participants.  The ARV of each Grand Prize is €2.403,85.

(b)               Prize for each Honorable Mention Winner (up to five in total): Each Honorable Mention Winning Team member verified as an eligible Participant will receive the right to choose any 10 items from the “Housing” section of the In-Game Store (which includes décor packs, FABkits, remodel unlocks), including out-of-season items.  The ARV of each Honorable Mention Prize is €198,15.

9.                  Odds of Winning: Odds of winning a Prize in this Contest depend on the total number of eligible Entries received during the Entry Period and the quality of the Screenshots submitted.

10.              How to Claim Your Prize: Each member of the Winner Teams will be contacted by a representative from the Sponsor within seven days after the Winners are announced.  Winner Team members will be notified using the email that the Team members used to register for the Team. In the event a Winner Team member cannot be contacted within 14 days after the Winners announcement on October 13, 2017, as determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor or its representatives, or a Winner Team member rejects a Prize, the Winner Team member’s portion of the Prize may be allocated to the other Winner Team members or forfeited. At the sole discretion of the Sponsor, disqualification, forfeiture and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: (a) potential Winner’s (or Team member’s) failure to timely respond to the notification; (b) the return of the notification as undeliverable; or (c) any other non-compliance with the Official Contest Rules. In the event of a Prize forfeiture, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, award or not award the forfeited Prize to an alternate winner. The Sponsor shall not be responsible or liable for any failure by a potential Winner Team member to accept the Prize for any reason.

11.              Prize Delivery:  For the Grand Prize Winners, each member of the Winner Team will be contacted by the Sponsor via email using the email entered at registration to coordinate delivery of the Team’s member equal share of the Prize. For the Honorable Mention Winners, the Prizes will be granted in-game in equal quantities to each Team member of the Winners Teams within two weeks after the announcement of Winners on October 13, 2017.

12.              Prize Conditions:  All costs associated with acceptance or use of the Prize, are the sole responsibility of each Winner Team member. Each Winner Team member is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes incurred by winning a Prize. To the extent required by law, Sponsor will provide the Winner Team members with an IRS Form 1099 or equivalent for the value of the applicable Prize, and Team members may be required to provide Sponsor their social security number solely for Sponsor to comply with its US tax reporting obligations. A Winner Team member may waive his/her right to receive a Prize.  A Prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-refundable, has no cash value, and must be accepted by the Winner as awarded unless the Winner waives his/her right to receive a Prize. A Prize may not be upgraded, and no substitutions by the Winner will be allowed, except that Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a Prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated Prize should be unavailable for any reason.
