We're back! September was easily our craziest month of 2013, with three shows in two weeks and tons of blood, sweat, and tears being thrown into all of them. We've successfully returned from PAX and are (mostly) over the PAX Plague, and with it we bring tales of intrigue, love, and maybe even some horror.
Our goal at the show was simple: Introduce more people to WildStar, and make sure our existing fans got their hands on the game. We had a great time watching new and old fans flag themselves for PvP and unleash hell on the opposing factions in Whitevale. This culminated in a Battle Royale on the last day of the show, where guilds teamed up to fight against a team of devs and beta testers live on the showfloor.
On our booth's big screen, we showed off a number of demos to the crowd covering the classes, combat, housing, and a dungeon run of Stormtalon's Lair. We also had a surprise visit from Steve and Kristy, two of our developers who were visiting PAX on their own and agreed to hold an impromptu demo of Genesis, our in-house world building tool. And, of course, the most important reason most people dropped by the booth: free pins! We were an official part of Pinny Arcade at PAX Prime 2013, and our staff had tons of pins to give away or trade with con-goers. While these specific pins (the Granok and Draken) were exclusive to PAX Prime, who knows what we'll have for the future?
Lastly, we held our big PAX panel on Saturday afternoon, which immediately filled to capacity as soon as the doors opened. We showed off the Neighbors system for housing, which allows you to visit friends, grant editing privileges on your housing plot, and much more. Plus we introduced a number of housing "plugs" which you can build which allow for all kinds of interactivity and fun for any type of player. PAX has the livestream archived if you missed it (the panel actually starts around the 31 minute mark).
The final piece of the WildStar PAX puzzle was our party on Saturday night. As we opened the doors, we realized the line extended far down the block and around the corner, but luckily we had plenty of room to spare thanks to our sponsors: Curse, Alienware, Logitech, and Plantronics!

All in all, it was an amazing weekend across the board. We want to give a HUGE thanks to the beta testers who offered to spend the show helping out on our booth. Every member of the dev team at PAX was blown away by the passion and excitement the fans have for WildStar, and I can tell you from personal experience, the devs share that same passion and excitement. Now it's time for us to get back to the Carbine offices and finish up this game! See you guys next week!
